We Rise: Women’s Day on the Hill is hosted by the National Women’s Political Caucus of Middle Tennessee, a local caucus of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Tennessee (NWPCTN). We are a grassroots, nonprofit organization that works to increase the representation of women who support equality and reproductive justice in all levels of Tennessee government.
Our national organization, the National Women’s Political Caucus, was established by distinguished social activists such as Shirley Chisolm, Fannie Lou Hamer, Virginia Allan, and Gloria Steinheim, to promote women’s issues and representation. The Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus carries their mantle in the state of Tennessee.
Our goal for We Rise: Women’s Day on the Hill 2023 is to train Tennessean women in legislative advocacy and encourage engagement with nonprofit organizations that work toward their civic goals.
